This happens because BBO and ACBL sometimes calculate masterpoints differently — especially in ACBL e-Club and ACBL Clubhouse games, where masterpoints are processed and finalized by the ACBL.
When you play on BBO, your points are computed using the standard club masterpoint formula for that specific game. These are the points that appear in your BBO history.
However, when the game results are sent to the ACBL for processing, they may restructure the field (for example, by combining multiple games into a single section) and recalculate the masterpoint awards using different formulas — sometimes applying upgrades, such as double points, or adjusting for event-specific rules. This can result in additional or different masterpoints appearing in Live for Clubs, which may not match what you see on BBO.
This means:
- You may receive ACBL points that don’t appear in your BBO profile, because they were added after the game by ACBL.
- Conversely, you may have points in your BBO history from play that ACBL later rescored differently.
