ACBL Daylong tournaments on BBO are designed to give players of all levels a fair shot at earning masterpoints. Because these events often draw over 1,000 participants, the award structure is a bit different from standard club games.
Here’s how it works:
🔹 Section Awards
Players are grouped into sections of 15 tables, and masterpoints are awarded based on performance within your section — just like in regular ACBL games.
🔹 Meta-Section Awards
To reflect the larger size of Daylongs, the ACBL has approved additional awards every 100 tables. These meta-section awards increase the number of players who can earn points, without having to compete only against the top scorers in the entire field.
🔹 Stratification
ACBL Daylongs are stratified, meaning all players are grouped into Stratum A, B, or C based on total masterpoints. You can earn points not only by placing well overall or in your section, but also by performing well within your stratum.
