BB$, short for Bridge Base Dollars, is the virtual currency you'll use for premium services on Bridge Base Online (BBO). These services may include entry fees for American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) tournaments or the rental of our GIB robots. BB$ is not convertible to cash, cannot be withdrawn, and is non-refundable.
You will need BB$ to enter tournaments, rent GIB robots, or play in any of our robot games. To ensure you're always ready to play, top up your BB$ balance in your BBO account ahead of time.
A system message will show your current BB$ balance each time you log in, keeping you updated so you're never caught off guard when entering a tournament.
How to Add BB$ to Your Account
There are several methods to purchase BB$. For convenience, you can save your credit card for future 1-Click purchases or choose the auto-refill option, which will automatically top up your BB$ account when your balance falls below a specified amount.
To add BB$ to your account, click on the BB$ button, located in the top menu or task bar. Here, you can handle all BB$ related operations, and even reach out to us via email for any questions, concerns or requests for BB$ transfers.
A new page will appear, with several options allowing you to manage your BB$ account, or send us an email with any questions or concerns you might have regarding your BB$ account:
After clicking on "Purchase BB$," you'll be redirected our shop store.bridgebase.com. You may have to login again to continue the operation. On this page you'll find a selector at the top, proposing you to buy BB$, set an automatic refill or subscribe to BBO+.
Purchasing BB$
You can choose to pay with either a credit/debit card or your Paypal account.
If you opt for a card payment, you'll need to re-enter your BBO username and password, then click "Continue." To pay with Paypal, select "Click here to pay with Paypal" on the right side of the screen. Your BB$ balance updates instantly after payment.
Completing the Payment Form
When selecting to pay by credit or debit card, a payment form will open. Fill out the payment form by completing all required fields. Make sure your name matches the one on your card and input your card's security code (CVV). You can leave the "Address (Line 2)" field empty.
To save your card details for future purchases, use the "Remember CC#" option. This stores your encrypted information securely with our credit card payment processing service, not on BBO's servers.
Once you've confirmed your details, click "Purchase." A receipt will be sent to the email address provided on the form, so ensure it's accurate.
1-Click Purchasing
If you've enabled the "Remember CC#" option, you can make quicker purchases by simply selecting the desired BB$ amount and clicking "Purchase."
For changes to your personal information, card details, email address, phone number, or to deactivate 1-Click purchasing or Auto-refill, click on "Change credit card or update personal information."
Auto-refill BB$
The Auto-refill feature automatically replenishes your BB$ when your balance dips below a chosen amount. To enable this feature, select Auto-refill at the top of the page then follow the instructions
If your balance falls below the selected threshold, the system will automatically purchase BB$ for you. Ensure your email address is up-to-date to receive notifications of any potential issues with your auto purchases.
Remember, the Auto-refill feature can only be enabled if you've allowed our card processor to securely store your card information with the "Remember CC#" option.
To stop automatic purchases, select "Never" from the "Auto purchase" menu in the "Update saved settings or credit card" section, and click "Update auto-refill."
